Securing a Future for the Arizona Family

Lina Hatch

We, at United Families Arizona, realize that the families of the great state of Arizona face many challenges and have many constraints on their precious time. Our children need us, our extended families need us, our schools need us, and our faith communities need us. However, we must never forget that our community and our nation need us as well.

Here are just a few things that require your attention:

- A crucial presidential election this fall
- An Arizona state amendment that clarifies the definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman
- The Continual attacks on parental rights and the role of mothers and fathers
- The crisis in our schools that includes the availability and use of illegal drugs and alcohol and the student indoctrination of values and morals that are contrary to your family's beliefs and standards

We, at UFA, want to help you in your efforts to be involved in your community.  We are reaching out to you with an invitation to become a part of this important effort.  WE NEED GOOD FAMILIES LIKE YOURS TO JOIN US!

There is something each one of us can and should be doing to protect and preserve the family!

- Sponsor programs in Arizona communities for educational purposes and encourage citizens to be involved.
- Follow state legislation and promote family values.
- Be involved in our communities and our public schools to promote strong family values.
- Uphold the Five Respects of United Families International:  Family and Marriage, Sanctity of   life, Parenthood, Culture and Religion, and National Sovereignty.
- Increase and unite our UFA pro-family membership statewide.

REPORTS ON RECENT EVENTS

With the general election just weeks away, volunteers from United Families Arizona have been stepping up efforts to gain support for vital issues. At four recent events around the state our members distributed information and recruited new supporters.

Right to Life Conference
September 6th; Scottsdale
We met some wonderful people here, people who have supported pro-life issues for many years. They were busy rushing off to classes and listening to speeches. However, our booth had a lot of traffic at the end of the conference. Conference participants gathered up United Families flyers and information handouts and purchased six Issues Guides. Many conference attendees were happy to receive information about the YESforMarriage.com campaign and also signed up as volunteers to help pass Prop 102 in Arizona.

Yavapai County Fair
September 18th – 21st; Prescott
Using the theme “Something to Crow About”, the Yavapai County Fair booth hosted by United Families Prescott Chapter was so popular that we ran out of Prop 102 campaign materials on the second day of the fair.
Many Fair attendees enthusiastically signed up as volunteers for the YESforMarriage.com campaign. Megan Holdsworth, a local photographer, donated a family photo session as a raffle item to one lucky family that was picked from the United Families Prescott booth.

Gilbert Constitution Fair
September 20th; Gilbert
This annual event featured the musical talents of the Lowe Family and a spectacular fireworks display. Other attractions included actors dressed as signers of the Constitution, rock wall climbing, and vendor booths.

Our United Families Arizona booth handed out a lot of United Families informational flyers and literature as well as bumper stickers and early ballot requests from the Prop 102 campaign. We were also able to talk with many people about United Families and share with them some of our international and state chapter goals.

Mesa Constitution Celebration
September 22nd; Mesa
In addition to the many Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, attending this event were wonderful friendly people who were very happy to see us out there with our message about Prop 102. Many mentioned that they were already helping Prop 102 passed. They were very excited that many community groups and individuals are now involved in this effort. We passed out a lot of bumper stickers and early ballot requests. The candy was also a big hit!
